If could have a conversation with one of your ancestors, what would you say? One of my questions will be, “Do you have options?” and, then I will explain what I mean by options. Have you created enough opportunities for yourself that allow you to survive regardless of what goes on around you? This is the question I have to ask myself as I look around my home environment. Have I created enough options for myself and my family to use to their advantage down the line? Because life is already hard and full of politics with a slew of people with money on the brain 247, think about it!
They say sometimes “it takes a village,” even if you don’t think so because you define yourself as a loner, but the truth is there is purpose in everyone you meet. Someway or somehow, they are aiding you on your self-discovery journey. You are learning your tolerance level, likes, dislikes, wants, needs, strengths, and weaknesses as you interact and communicate with each other. So, don’t be mad when things don’t work out with certain people because their time in your life is over.
Forgive me! But sometimes that is hard to do because whoever said, “Stick and stones will break my bones, but words never harm me,” is not telling the truth. Words do hurt, and even unsaid words hurt. It hurts our egos and feelings and can damage relationships if you allow it.
What have your ego done for you lately? Is the question we should be asking ourselves, but we don’t. We just go about acting and behaving the way we see fit. Until I eyes are open, and we realize maybe, just maybe we let our ego get the best of us.
Today! Today! Today! We want everything today. Has life taught us that we need everything now? Where is our patience? I am the type of person who thinks about the what if’s in life and stress myself out trying to prevent it. I worry too much. I know that I am a thinker and over-analyzer at times. It is difficult for my mind to relax.
How much pain and struggles can you take before saying I had enough? When we enter into relationships or decide to stay in our relationship, many people use the excuse I am with her or him for the kids. So I am asking you to ask yourself, what are your values?
Sometimes we must ask ourselves what is more important to us, our character or our reputation, maybe both. If we lived in the old British/ European way, a person’s reputation would be vital to our livelihood.
Sometimes all people need to know is that they are capable of amazing things to give them the push they need. Sometimes you are the amazing thing in their life that provides them with the motivation to push on. But, other times, you are just sacred.
Goals, Goals, Goals! We all have dreams we need to achieve, but sometimes we fall off track. Our plans get lost in the survival of the day-to-day. We pay my bills and go to work. We occasionally allow our dreams to slip through our hands.
Have you ever looked at your friend and wondered why they hadn’t taken the necessary steps to do what they keep talking about: all talk and little action.
