“Shit!” That is what you say when the dread takes over as you look around your room and see exactly where your decisions lead you. You are the person that loves your life that could change one or two things, or you are the person that can throw half of your life away. How did you get here?
Are you waking up in the morning or thinking that you don’t like your life from time to time? When times are tough, how do you get past the why I am stuck here feeling unsatisfied? Year after year, you are in the same place before. Are you the type of person that has to reach rock bottom before you feel the need to change your life?
New Year is upon us, and some of us wish we were in the days of not worrying about coronavirus, looking in our closet, and thinking you have nothing to wear. Therefore, I stand in my closet for 30 minutes, hoping for some inspiration to jump out at me. Hoping for one of my dresses, shirts, jeans, sweaters to scream, “Hey, wear me today!”
I’m over forty and supposed to have my life together, so they say. But as we all know, life throws us a curve and we lose focus. We must deal with it or slip into a slump that is difficult to get out of without the proper help. Society says that we are supposed to be married, have kids, and have promising careers by a certain age.
If you are anything like me, it’s hard to turn off my thoughts sometimes. It keeps going and going and going, like that energizer bunny. Or is it Duracell? I don’t know. Especially now, when we are in December, Christmas is coming up in a few weeks, the News Years.

Have you ever noticed that we all have many self-induced obstacles that keep us from achieving our goals and dreams? We self-sabotage our road to success by holding ourselves back and not taking the necessary steps to conquer some of our obstacles.
Have you ever listened to somebody’s story while they were in your presence? The tears are forming in the eyes. You want to help, but you don’t want to say the wrong thing. What do you do when it’s your family member? I know my mouth can be roofless sometimes when I am provoked and unapologetically so.

Have you analyzed the style of jobs you recently applied for‒ Why apply for 4 or 5 types of similar positions that do not have anything to do with what you want to do? Some of us get stuck in the “why I didn’t get the job” mindset bring up the excuses of why
We get told that everyone has a purpose in this life; we need to find it. Most of the time, many people do not know what that purpose is because we are sleepwalking through our lives. We get all caught up in the expectation from ourselves, family, friends, and society that we confine ourselves to the four walls we built to protect ourselves from the stress that puts on us.
